Recent progress in the field of Silicon Quantum Information Processing (QIP) has resulted in the demonstration of a variety of qubit implementations. Silicon researchers are now facing the challenge of interconnecting these basic building blocks and establishing reliable long-range interactions. This could be achieved through the marriage of semiconducting quantum systems with superconducting microwave circuits, resulting in hybrid architectures. Interestingly, superconducting QIP could also benefit from this union with the semiconductor world, leading to new breeds of tunable superconducting qubits.

The purpose of this meeting is to bring together the leading researchers from the silicon and semiconductor QIP communities with those working on superconducting and hybrid quantum systems. The focus will be on bridging the gap between these two worlds, discussing advantages and challenges of hybrid implementations, as well as showcasing the most recent advances in silicon quantum electronics.
